AV Entertainments departments
AV Entertainments has sold films since 1999, as downloads and on disc. The PPV section, where you pay for individual films, holds the digital titles. DVDs and Blu-rays have their own department.
You can choose a familiar studio, follow an actress or find a specific film code. New releases, coming titles and daily or monthly rankings offer other ways into the store.
Choosing films and finding your orders
Product pages are open to visitors. Studio, cast, film code, release date, running time and available resolutions sit beside a free video sample and downloadable gallery.
From choosing to collecting
You create an account when you order, with your name, country, email address and password, then activate it through an email link. Your orders appear in your account. A digital purchase includes streaming, downloads and photos, while a rental is streaming only.
Following the studios
HEYZO, Caribbeancom and 1pondo have the largest selections. MUGEN, Super Model Media and CAT WALK are also represented:
| Studio | Titles |
|---|---|
| HEYZO | 1,958 |
| Caribbeancom | 1,908 |
| 1pondo | 1,560 |
| MUGEN | 601 |
| Super Model Media | 590 |
| CAT WALK | 583 |
Release dates make it easy to follow your favorite studio. Older titles are useful when you want to find a performer or complete a series.
Titles and synopses are in English, while dialogue stays in Japanese. ZENRA is an option if you want to follow a subtitled story.
Rentals, purchases and credit
You pay once per order, with no renewal. A rental costs $4.50 for seven days on titles offered at that rate, while a recent film to own costs $19.50. Purchased downloads have no expiry, and rentals end after the week. Prepaid credit has no expiry or refund and works only on digital films. For disc orders, parcels seized by customs are neither refunded nor sent again.

Cards and shipping
You can use Visa, Mastercard, JCB or Discover, with the card security code required on every order. Your statement shows Opticalxtreme Inc.

Verdict
Who it suits
- Collecting films from favorite studios
- Renting a few selected titles
- Finding a specific film code
Who should skip it
- Watching many films on a fixed monthly budget
- Paying with an e-wallet
- Following translated dialogue
Building a collection one Japanese film at a time is where AV Entertainments fits best. You can rent to discover a studio, then buy downloads of the titles you want to revisit. If you watch several films every week, a membership such as JapanHDV better matches that pace.
For individual rentals and a film collection, AV Entertainments rates four out of five. You find many studios in one shop. Payment is restricted to cards, and the Japanese dialogue has no subtitles.
