The sex toy shops in this category fall into two families. Multi-brand stores resell different makers alongside their own line: Adam & Eve carries 126, The Kink Store mixes its own brand with others. Brand stores mainly sell their own toys: LELO, SVAKOM, Lovense, Kiiroo, TENGA, Fleshlight, The Handy or Honey Play Box.
The choice has practical consequences. A multi-brand store lets you compare two similar devices on the same page and under the same return policy. A brand store offers a maker's full range, sleeves and accessories included, where a reseller keeps only a few models: Adam & Eve sells just five LELO devices.
The common rule is simple: a toy taken out of its packaging can no longer be refunded. Most shops in the category only take back a sealed item, and some also keep part of the price or the outbound shipping.
Three exceptions change things for a first purchase. Adam & Eve takes back any item for 90 days, for any reason. Honey Play Box refunds a toy tried for seven days. The Kink Store takes back a toy from its own brand for 101 days even when used, for store credit. At LELO, the satisfaction guarantee also takes back an unboxed device, but it pays out a coupon, to spend within a month.
The most common warranty is one year, at Lovense, Kiiroo, The Handy, TENGA, The Kink Store or Honey Play Box. LELO and SVAKOM give two years, SVAKOM even on a toy that has been opened and used, and Adam & Eve five years on its own brand.
Two details are worth reading before ordering. Some warranties require registering the toy within a short time, two weeks at Honey Play Box, thirty days for the LELO extension. And several brands extend the warranty with a discount on a new device: half price for ten years at LELO and SVAKOM, 55% at Lovense.
Every shop promises a discreet parcel, and they differ in the name they publish in advance for the label and for the bank statement.
At Adam & Eve, the shop's name shows neither on the parcel nor on the statement. SVAKOM ships and bills as UC Customer Service, The Kink Store as RSV LLC. The Handy bills as ODKI, Fleshlight ships as ILF, LLC, and Lovense shows a random code on the statement. LELO, on the other hand, warns that the brand name appears in small print on the shipping label.
Six brands in the category make phone-controlled toys, and the app matters as much as the device. Lovense Remote only recognises Lovense toys. Kiiroo runs through FeelConnect, SVAKOM offers a choice between its own app and KooSync, which follows interactive videos, and The Handy can also be controlled from a browser.
Some brands open up to others. Kiiroo's Keon 2 takes Fleshlight sleeves with an adapter, and The Handy accepts most sleeves on the market. Before buying a connected toy, it is worth checking what the app asks for on top, an account, a subscription or paid videos.
In this trade, the struck-through price is the rule more than the exception. At Honey Play Box, half the store sells at half price all year, at SVAKOM half the items carry a struck-through price, and at Adam & Eve almost every displayed price assumes a code entered at checkout.
The discount sometimes carries a hidden cost. At SVAKOM, a sale item can no longer be refunded, and at Adam & Eve free shipping needs a second code. The price to compare from one shop to another is therefore that of the final basket, shipping included, along with the return terms that come with it.
