How we rank cam sites

A cam site is judged on what it lets you see before paying, then on what the rest costs. For every site on this page, we checked what opens without an account, the price of a token or credit, how a private show is billed, the payment methods, the bank statement descriptor, the refund rules and the name of the company that takes the money.

The rating judges the service for the person paying. Some top spots in a category are bought and some visit buttons are affiliate links, but neither the review nor the rating can be bought. Every review lists its sources below the text.

Watching cam sites for free

Most big sites let you watch without paying. On Chaturbate, more than 8,000 public rooms are open at once, with no account or card. Xcams opens a model's free chat to visitors, and CAM4 its public rooms.

Others charge earlier. Jerkmate asks for a card at sign-up, Slut Roulette before you can type, and both take $2 when you enter a paid room, returned as credit. In some countries, several sites also require an account and an age check before showing a single thumbnail.

The real price of a private minute

The figure that matters is the price of a minute in money. Working it out takes two numbers, the model's rate in tokens and the price of a token in the package you buy.

A few sites set one rate for everyone. Every model on MyFreeCams charges 60 tokens a minute for a private, and so do those on BongaCams. Elsewhere, each model chooses: from 6 to 1,920 tokens a minute on Chaturbate, from 8 to 150 on Stripchat. XLoveCam makes the maths easy, since one credit is worth one euro.

The token price is often missing. LiveJasmin, Flirt4Free, ImLive and SinParty only show it once the account is open or at checkout. Our reviews say which of the two numbers is missing, and give the minute in money whenever it can be worked out. SakuraLive gives the answer itself: its point is worth $2.

Private, exclusive and spy shows

On many sites, other members can follow a private show. On Xcams, private chat takes up to four visitors, and only VIP, usually twice the price, leaves you alone with the model. On XLoveCam, the room only closes in exclusive mode.

Spy mode lets you watch another member's private without typing, for less. On MyFreeCams it costs 20 tokens a minute, and the TruePrivate option locks spies out for 80 tokens. On LiveJasmin, a 25-second peek costs 1.99 credits.

A private show can also leave a trace. Chaturbate records privates by default, Xtease hands the video to the buyer when the model allows it, and Flirt4Free can publish a paid session with its sound unless you opt out. SakuraLive keeps every written conversation.

White labels, storefronts and aggregators

A good share of cam sites stream nothing themselves. Royal Cams sells BongaCams' catalogue under the same company, and Xtease sells Stripchat's. Sweepsex opens a Chaturbate account under another name.

Streamate feeds a whole family: Jerkmate, Slut Roulette and Exposed Webcams are storefronts for it, and the network supplies nearly nine rooms in ten on OléCams, more than 1,300 rooms on SinParty and most of those on Delhi Sex Chat.

AllCamSex puts the rooms of five sites into one grid and sends you to them to pay. Sexymeet.tv shares its software with 118 video chat brands. In every case, prices, rules and customer service belong to the original network, and our reviews name it.

Tokens that expire and auto top-ups

On several sites, a balance has a deadline. ImLive credits expire thirty days after purchase, SinParty tokens after ninety days, CAM4 tokens after six months. Cams.com takes 50 tokens a month from an account left six months without a login.

Auto top-up buys tokens when your balance runs low. Stripchat can charge your card up to four times a day, and BongaCams buys the same package again with no limit on the number of times. Before a first purchase, we would leave it switched off.

Getting a refund

A tip almost never comes back. Beyond that, the rules range from generous to nothing. MyFreeCams refunds a purchase from the last thirty days, up to $1,000. OléCams and XLoveCam refund an untouched package for fourteen days, ImLive untouched credits for thirty.

At the other end, CamSoda treats every purchase as final, Jerkmate and Slut Roulette refund no sale at all, and BongaCams gives you twenty-four hours to complain. AllCamSex's "money back" guarantee is capped at $50, left to its discretion.

Paying discreetly

The name on your bank statement is that of the company taking the payment, often unrelated to the site. Stripchat publishes eight descriptors, none of them with its name, and SinParty bills as SP Billing. Chaturbate publishes none.

Cryptocurrency leaves nothing on a statement but offers no recourse. PayPal sometimes costs more: on CAM4, the same price buys 10% fewer tokens. Every review gives the descriptors when the site publishes them.

Subscriptions

Cam site subscriptions look alike. Supporter costs $19.95 a month on Chaturbate, Ultimate €19.99 on Stripchat, Gold €19.99 on CAM4, and Flirt4Free's VIP $39.95 for thirty days. CAM4's renews every thirty days, with no reminder email.

MyFreeCams and XLoveCam sell no site-wide subscription. Sexymeet.tv's software includes discounted introductory subscriptions that then renew at full price.

Sites for a specific audience

A few sites target an audience the big ones serve poorly. Camera Prive gathers Brazilian models and bills in reais. SakuraLive focuses on Japanese models. Delhi Sex Chat keeps a small section of models based in India, under 2% of those online.

CAM4 gives couples, men and trans performers as much room as women. XLoveGay, the only gay cam site in the category, shows between four and fourteen men live in the late afternoon, European time.

Age verification

Where the law requires it, a cam site asks for age verification before any content, often when the account is opened. Providers vary, Yoti, Ondato, VerifyMy, AgeGO or Go.cam, and the bank card sometimes serves as proof. A site that shows a simple entry button in one country may demand a verified account in another.
