Much of what is sold under the name of porn game is not one. Sometimes it is a game wrapper placed in front of a subscription, sometimes a three minute demonstration that leads to a till, sometimes a single button that sends you elsewhere. For every site on this page we therefore began by playing, with no account where that was possible, and noted precisely what can be done before anything is asked of us.
That is what every review says first: how far the free run goes, and what kind of wall stops it. A registration wall, which asks for an email address and leaves the game free afterwards, has nothing in common with a payment wall that demands a bank card before the first screen. The difference is the most useful thing anyone can tell you before you click.
The entry price is almost never the real price. These games sell an internal currency, chests, draws and progress accelerators, and that is where the spending is decided. For every game we record the name of the currency, what it actually buys, what the game gives away at the start, and what has to be reached to open each locked feature.
The subscription deserves a careful reading, because it does not work here the way it works elsewhere. Several of these games do not pay out their currency in one go but day by day, to be claimed by logging in, with a missed day simply lost. A subscription of that kind gives you less the less you play, which is the opposite of what anyone expects. We flag it every time we read it.
A game that publishes the odds of its draws does something rare, and we put it to its credit. A game that displays on screen the exact condition for opening each feature does something rarer still, and that counts in the rating too.
The most common rule in these games fits in one sentence: the refund disappears as soon as part of the bought currency has been spent. A fourteen day window that closes with the first token spent is not worth much, since spending is precisely what the purchase was for.
The terms of these games often set their own window and add their own conditions to it, and those conditions are what matter. Each review gives the announced period, the documents a claim requires and what voids the right.
Most of these games run in the browser, on a computer as on a phone, and do not install. None is distributed through the application stores, which refuse adult content: those that offer an icon on the home screen do it as a web application, from the browser itself. Every review states this, with the operating system required where there is one.
The save is almost always online, tied to the account and not to the machine, which lets you pick up elsewhere but means keeping your credentials. Then comes the question that worries people most: what becomes of your progress when the subscription stops? Every review answers it, because the answer is not the same everywhere.
